THE SECRET OF WALTER MITTY 美国前外交官、《纽约客》专栏作家、二十世纪著名幽默小说家James
The short storiness of James Thurber's brilliantly lit moment in time is truly wonderful. Since it was written in 1939, to highlight the wispy nature of one man's substance along Main Street, America, the story is meant to be here one moment, then gone. In many ways, the fact that it's "too short" is sort of the point. Many thanks to James Thurber's daughter, Rosemary, for allowing this story to become an ebook. Presumably the timing relates to Hollywood once again (first with Danny Kaye, this time with Ben Stiller) making a full-length movie out of a short story moment. I think that's fine, too. Many moviegoers will search around on their Kindle for this story to experience the original in its original form. Light and delightful.
